Role Overview:

Reporting to the Head of Utilities, the Business Development Representative (BDR) will drive revenue growth by prospecting and securing new business leads, driving existing pipeline to close, and preparing the team with targeted research and preparation materials to expedite the sales process. You will use your communication and organizational skills to cultivate strong relationships with customers, from first contact until you close the deal.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the utilities pipeline and ensure that the team is driving deals to close as expeditiously as possible
  • Identify and qualify sales leads with strategic outreach methods
  • Conduct cold outreach to prospects; Schedule sales meetings
  • Identify the needs and challenges of the prospective customer and prepare pitch decks and meeting materials utilizing that information
  • Participate in and manage all follow ups from prospective client meetings and ensure movement through the sales process
  • Contribute to the development of both political and policy-based strategies to expedite the sales process
  • Stay up to date on the company’s products and pricing, as well as the competitive landscape
  • Work with leadership on reporting to provide visibility of prospecting and sales activities
  • Maintain customer information and records and pull reports using the company’s CRM

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • At least one year professional experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills, including a high degree of comfort leading and speaking in large meetings with high-level personnel
