Company overview:

Promise helps utilities and government agencies create flexible and affordable solutions for customers struggling to pay off their debt. We have raised over $50 million and we’re backed by leading investors such as Kapor Capital, XYZ Ventures, Bronze Investments, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, The General Partnership (formerly Sweat Equity Ventures), Howard Schultz, and others. We're proud to have recently been chosen as one of Fast Company's "World's Most Innovative Companies of 2022."

Role overview:

We’re looking for an experienced Product Marketer to join our growing team. The primary responsibility of the Product Marketer will be to develop, manage and execute customer acquisition and retention campaigns across channels including but not limited to SMS, digital ads, and social media. The individual will need to be both strategic and tactical, and able to quickly recognize and implement any adjustments needed to optimize the success of the campaigns. The role will appeal to candidates who are highly analytical and equally enjoy building thoughtful strategies and getting in the weeds to execute them.

What you'll do:

  • Work closely with the implementation, tech, customer success, and operations teams on outbound marketing strategies and programs to drive awareness, enrollment, platform adoption, and long-term engagement at the end-user level
  • Deeply understand the end-user and their connection with the product in order to drive meaningful adoption and greater engagement: develop customer segmentation strategies in partnership with the client success, data and customer success teams
  • Own and operate the full cycle of outreach to the end-user: from campaign strategy to copywriting to deployment to iteration, and performance analysis
  • Build and manage dashboard of KPIs: from conversion metrics by channel or customer segment to CAC and beyond (we use Looker. SQL knowledge is a plus)
  • Provide reporting on customer acquisition and retention performance by channel, segment, client / jurisdiction – deeply understand what works where and why
  • Build and document best practices and processes to improve operational efficiency

You’re a great fit for the role if you:

  • Are coming from a similar role in B2C performance marketing / growth or a political campaign, with 5-8 total years of experience
  • Are highly technical with a strong command of data and analytics and their accompanying tools (SQL, Looker, Google Sheets, Retool, etc.)
  • Are a team player who people like working with
  • Have a growth mindset, with a natural inclination to want to continuously improve
  • Can work quickly, without sacrificing quality
  • Are an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, including an ability to translate learnings into content for slide or written presentations
  • Are an expert multitasker: you can triage in the moment, juggling a number of tasks without losing sight of priorities
  • Thrive on new challenges – we are always changing and you’re up for the ride!
  • Are tech savvy: you’re adept at learning new tools and technologies
  • Are resourceful and an ‘expert learner.’ You’re naturally curious and good at figuring new things out
  • Have a strong work ethic and are self-directed: you don’t need to be told what to do next
  • Are excited about our mission: you want to prove that moving away from punitive approaches to non-payment and treating people with dignity can be a win for everyone
