Role Overview:

Promise is seeking a highly-skilled Project Manager to support our work delivering free or low cost WiFi to low-income communities. The Project Manager will work closely with Promise’s CEO, CFO, and external partners to manage this initiative, identify deliverables, and ensure production of those deliverables. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, acting as a utility player to support all facets of this work.

What You’ll Do:

• Work closely with internal and external team members to manage the flow of information and production of deliverables
• Track current project implementation and create a system for monitoring and evaluating progress and identifying roadblocks
• Help develop and execute a strategic plan for Promise’s broadband work nationally, including organizational structure and financial projections
• Prepare strategy and materials for meetings with current and potential partners, prospective funders and government agencies
• Track and analyze federal, state and local regulations and funding opportunities related to broadband
• Conduct and maintain research on the current market and competitive landscape
• Manage and oversee all internal infrastructure, operating procedures, communication cadence, etc.
• Design, oversee and ensure the quality of systems, such as presentations, databases, and meeting notes

• Experience managing complex, multi-faceted projects
• Experience working at a fast-paced tech start up and/or a background in consulting
• A strong ability to track multiple concurrent work threads without ever dropping tasks and with minimal supervision
• Stellar listening, speaking, presentation and writing skills
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and efficiently
• Business acumen and strong consulting skills and experience, including on strategy, program development and project management
• Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a desire to advance our mission
• A deep excitement about helping governments and other civic entities improve the quality of their services, especially the ones they provide to the constituents who need help the most
• A knack for quickly diagnosing problems, while always keeping the big picture in mind
• Comfort in ambiguity: you’ve worked in a startup environment or something similar where there wasn’t always clarity about what you should do next

It’s Especially Great if You Have:

• Experience in government technology, either as a member of a government agency or as a vendor
